There must be something about the way Frog gives the example, the way you two sort of discuss and dissect the phrases, and the bite-size-ness of each of these episodes... it all seems to add up to a super-effective way to learn these idioms! Honestly I don't know what it is, but pedagogically it really works and I think you've got a great thing going here...
Throughout last week I found myself in conversations wherein I busted out "ce n'est pas la mer à boire", "il y a qqch qui cloche", and "je ne suis pas dans mon assiette", without even thinking about it! (Causing my Frenchman to look astonished and to declare "Qu'est-ce t'a dit? Oh la la, j'ai mal à la France!")
